American actor Michael Jai White enstooled as a chief in Akwamu



American actor, Michael Jai White, has been enstooled as a chief by the Akwamuhene Odeneho Kwafo Akoto III at a colourful ceremony on Wednesday.

The Hollywood actor received the stool title of ‘Odupong’ meaning “a tree firmly rooted” at the Bogyawe Palace, Akwamufie.

The ceremony also saw Bozoma Saint John, the US-born Ghanaian who was until June 2018, the Chief Brands Officer of Uber, conferred with an honorary title.

In a video sighted by YEN.com.gh, White who has been in Ghana as part of the Full Circle Festival, was seen dancing the popular 'adowa' traditional dance.

Fellow Hollywood actor Boris Kodjoe who was also present at the durbar ground, tried joining in the 'adowa' dance.

The festival was chaired by The Office of His Excellency President Nana Akufo-Addo and presented by the Ministry of Tourism, the Ministry of Business Development and the Office of Diaspora Affairs.

The Full Circle Festival was established to honour our ancestry by celebrating our heritage and generational legacy.

The star-studded guests will experience Ghana for its beauty, vibrant culture, compassionate people, and wonderful food.
